In 2016, CVS filled 1.2 billion prescriptions, approximately 23.8% of the US retail pharmacy market. Its 1,100 MinuteClinic locations make CVS the largest retail clinic operator in the U.S. Along with their other subsidiaries, CVS Health serves customers in Brazil via Drogaria Onofre, Hawaii via Longs Drugs, nursing homes via Omnicare, and patients with rare and chronic diseases via Accordant.  

In 2017, it introduced CVS vending machines that offer many of the personal products available at store locations. In December of the same year, CVS decided to acquire the health care and insurance company, Aetna, for $69 billion. The company currently sits seventh on the Fortune 500 list.
