About Louis

Louis Swingrover has been active in commercial real estate since 2003, and has helped other investors place over $1 Billion of equity. He has been featured in outlets such as Forbes, where he serves as an official member of the Forbes Real Estate Council. He currently serves as CEO of 1031Gateway, which is dedicated to empowering real estate investors to protect their capital while reinvesting it into durable income–producing property. He also serves as Executive Director of SaveThe1031.org, a taxpayer advocacy group that partners with other industry organizations to protect the tax-deferred exchange during periods of tax reform and budget reconciliation. He holds a B.A. from Biola University and does graduate work in philosophy at Gonzaga.

During the Great Recession, Louis witnessed the destructive consequences that other investors suffered as a result of misinformation and over-aggressive investment recommendations. He founded 1031Gateway to help other investors by connecting them to competent, honest professionals who really and truly put their clients first.

Louis and the 1031Gateway team work to identify and analyze available Reg. D offerings that qualify for 1031 exchange, paying special attention to the assumptions that underly each property's cash flow projections, and whether they can hold up to changes in the market or potential economic downturns.

Louis grew up in Southern California, where he enjoyed playing water polo and lifeguarding. Today, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, studying philosophy, playing chess, and drinking good coffee.
