FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX) is an American-based international courier service company that also offers various e-commerce and business services. FedEx employes over 300,000 individuals. It began with overnight air delivery and has expanded, primarily by acquisition, into relatedservice spaces. FedEx now offers overnight delivery by air, day-definite delivery by truck, e-commerce fulfillment delivery, freight, hazardous material tansportation, customs and insurance advice, supply chain and logistics services, digital printing, copying, finishing, signs and graphics, and direct mail. In 2013 FedEx laid out five strategies for growth: making staff functions more efficient, modernizing its air fleet, making its US domestic network more efficient, scaling international services and reducing overhead, and expanding service offerings. FedEx now operates one of the largest civil aircraft fleets in the world, and the largest fleet of wide-bodied civil aircraft. It was recently listed by Fortune magazine among the top 100 companies to work for and top 10 most admired companies.
